Drive down any street and you can always tell who spends a lot of time and money on their landscaping.

I'm sure we all have that neighbor who mows his lawn every other day with precise edging, or the elderly couple that spends most of their day outside pulling weeds, repotting plants, pressure washing their pressure washer lol, as well as the neighbors that have costly companies that stop by weekly to do a number of checklists to ensure their landscaping looks top notch.

If you ever tried to create perfect lines in your lawn using a push mower I'm sure you realized in order to achieve such precision you need specific tools.

Could you imagine trying to plant a shrub using a kitchen spoon to dig your hole? I'm guessing that it can be accomplished but it would probably take you more than a week, putting in several hours each day, resulting in such frustration that you most likely would give up before the task is accomplished.

Choosing the proper tools is essential when constructing an exquisite garden and landscaping that invoke admiration from others.

Just like a garden needs proper care and attention to flourish, our minds also require maintenance to foster a healthy and vibrant inner world.

Depending on others for our happiness is just as time consuming and futile as using a spoon to dig a hole.

Happiness, harmony and tranquility all are within.

I likened our thoughts to produce either exotic flowers or weeds in my previous blog and as with any garden, doing nothing or putting in little to no work, the weeds will inevitably take over.

Positive affirmations, writing vision boards, meditating on our promises from God, spending time thinking about the many wonderful things we currently have, all of these and more are the first steps in planting beautiful vegetation.

Finding things that we enjoy, laughing, child-like imaginations, staring at the sky, is plowing the ground preparing for the seeds.

Weeding out and tending to negative thoughts, being impatient with others and especially with ourselves, allowing bitterness or resentment, stress, worry, anxiety, etc., on some days can seem daunting. However, this will ensure the seeds of gratitude, mindfulness, appreciation, tranquility, growth and resilience to blossom.

Furthermore, we would be foolish to plant these seeds and an hour later go and dig them up. When we say "I am strong, beautiful, courageous" and 30 minutes later go have coffee with a friend and say "I will never find somebody to love me, I am so fat, I am getting so old and wrinkly" this is in essence exactly what we are doing.

Maintenance and consistency is what will produce the bountiful harvest.

Gardening the landscape of our minds is a metaphorical concept that emphasizes the importance of cultivating positive thoughts and nurturing personal growth.

When you walk into a room, others should look upon your "landscape" and desire the same for themselves. Thus, provoking them to emulate an exquisite garden of their own.
