TWO WORDS THAT CAN CHANGE EVERYTHING

Now on His way to Jerusalem, Jesus traveled along the border between Samaria and Galilee. As he was going into a village, ten men who had leprosy met Him.

They stood at a distance and called out in a loud voice, "Jesus, Master, have pity on us."

When he saw them, He said "Go show yourselves to the priests."

And as they went, they were cleansed.

One of them, when he saw he was healed, came back, praising God in a loud voice. He threw himself at the feet of Jesus and thanked Him.

Jesus asked, "Were not all ten cleansed? Where are the other nine? Has no one returned to give praise to God except you?"

Then He said to him, "Rise and go; your faith has made you whole."

Today I want to share with you one of my favorite stories in the Bible.

I have held onto this story for many many years and I have often shared it with others.

In order for you to better understand what took placed you first need to know the effects of the disease.

Leprosy is highly contagious so when a person became symptomatic, they were immediately ostracized from others and only a priest could reverse the excommunication.

Upon contact with the disease, the skin would first show symptoms, and not longer after the fingers and/or toes would begin to fall off.

So when Jesus cleansed all ten men, their skin was no longer infected.

However, if they had already entered the stage of bone decay and they lost fingers or toes, ONLY the one man who returned to thank God became whole.

Meaning the other nine had perfect skin again but were maybe missing a pinky toe, whereas the man who became whole had his pinky toe restored!!

Can you imagine watching your toes supernaturally grow back after they were amputated from neuropathy or a catastrophic injury?!!!!

How many times have we prayed and asked God for a safe journey and indeed He grants our petition, but we are so busy enjoying that we forget to say "Thank You!"

Saying thank you in our culture is respectful and I know more operate this way than not and most do it without a second thought. So in essence, it's second nature.

Our Creator, however, knows the difference between an automatic reply (like when someone asks how are you and your automatic reply is: I'm good thanks how are you) verses a genuine fall to our knees "thank you."

Ask and it is given (ye have not because you ask not...)

Believe that He is able, He heard you, and He is a rewarder of those who seek Him.

Third part of this process is to Receive. Relax. It's out of your hands so the "how, when, where from who" is no longer your responsibility.

But if you want to unlock a hidden truth that brings about wholeness and restoration is the two words that changes everything.
