One of my sought after goals is to be a contortionist as well as have extreme body strength. I don't recall telling anyone this but one day somebody asked my 7 year old daughter what some of her goals are and she said to be a contortionist. I was flabbergasted.

In doing some research, I came across a tutorial on doing an elite pose that would require balance and strength.

The tutorial showed how to warm up, stretch and begin. It was suggested for beginners to place pillows in front of them in case of a fall.

Thank God I did!! One of the aspects of the pose was confidence. The instructor emphasized the importance of having confidence in your ability to hold the the pose.

I honestly don't think I have ever had more confidence in myself before. I was so confident that I was going to nail the pose that when I fell flat on my face I was in utter disbelief.

After the initial shock wore off, the pain of busting my face against the pillows was my focus. Falling that hard and fast, pillows felt like concrete but nevertheless, I was glad they were there.

This was over a year ago and I still haven't been able to attempt it again.

Despite knowing that each time I fall and get back up, eventually I will be able to build a resilience, the impact of the fall is greater than the hope of attaining the goal.

I have watched shows where divers have been attacked by sharks and lost body parts but go back in the ocean after recovering in order to conquer their fear.

The reason they give is the same. They have such a passion and a love for the ocean that they refuse to let the fear of another attack stop them.

I don't know if I have told you this yet but my pain tolerance is very low. That's not to say that I can't handle pain but in my opinion, I certainly feel it a lot more than others.

So enduring pain is not one of my strong traits. I know that I have told you that I'm results driven and if I don't see results quick enough I tend to give up easily.

This is definitely something that I'm working to change about myself but purposely inducing the possibility of physical pain is going to be a bit more challenging for me to overcome.

If I were to ask your opinion on what is "ultimate faith," what would be your definition?

My answer is simple yet complex. My definition of "ultimate faith" is infinite patience.

The capacity to accept or tolerate delay, trouble or suffering without getting angry or upset. Without questioning how, when, where, and from who.

That was the simple part.

The more complex part of my answer is that when we put our trust, confidence, faith in ourselves or others, it can become risky.

And not just risky but it can end in betrayal, disappointment, frustration and resentment.

What I have learned is that most people, myself included, have confused God - our Creator, Supreme Intelligence, Ancient of Days, Beginning and the End, Most High and more, with man.

We have allowed setbacks, delays, detours, shut doors etc. to mislead us into believing that God is unreliable just like relationships and situations we've experienced in the past.

Our fear of rejection, failure and adversity is greater than the hope of achievement.

"Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a desire fulfilled is a tree of life." - Proverbs 13:12

If we surrender to infinite patience then we will walk in the ultimate faith of attaining that which we desire.

Pure bliss is our reward. While we wait, we assume the feeling of the wish fulfilled. We bask in the joy and ease of the end result.

Know that God is exactly who He says He is. He is the same yesterday, today and forever Amen!

If we can trust the chair that is holding us while we read this blog, then how much more should we Him?!

I'm unsure if I will attempt the pose anytime in the near future, but what I do know is that I will relax and release the need to know when, how, where and from who my desires will come to fruition.
