THE RULE OF RESILIENCY

One of the most enlightening and in my honest opinion somewhat terrifying Scripture in the Bible says this:

"It rains on the just and the unjust - Matthew 5:45"

Life's storms are not going to blow over your neighbor's house simply because he is a believer or because he is a good man.

When the storm moves in, no man is exempt from the downpour.

However, a rule is a statement that sets a standard for behavior, action or operation and the "rule" of resiliency states this:

It's not the absence of stress that determines strength - it's the ability to recover, adapt and grow stronger from it

Therefore, every man is able to dictate their reaction to the storm and the devastation it causes.

I purposely made that statement bold because it needs to stand out.

Imagine jumping from the roof of a car onto concrete. I'm sure your knees would buckle and you may lose your balance when landing but aside from that not, much else would happen.

Now imagine jumping from the roof of a car onto a trampoline. Most could supersede the height of the original starting point.

This illustration depicts the difference of one who applies the rule of resiliency verses the one who does not.

We must understand that ALL things work together for our good and that when we face these circumstances we not only recover but we grow stronger because of it.

The bounce back is greater only because of the fall.

Each one of us face dilemmas, set backs, delays, insurmountable stress almost every day but deep within our being is resiliency pulsating through our veins.

It's in our DNA. We are made in the image and likeness of our Creator.

A lot of changes are happening in our country, government, cities, work place, and personal lives.

Most of these changes are viewed as the kind of storm that can shake life to its core.

Determine now how you want the outcome.
