SICK AND TIRED
What To Do When You Are Sick and Tired

Approximately how many times can you recall your mom saying "I'm sick and tired of your ...?"
Better yet, how many times have you said this to your own children or someone in your life?
As I was yelling at the top of my lungs to my son who rarely if ever listens, I was in the middle of saying that phrase.
I stop mid-sentence and shook my head. We have adapted these generational curses.
Re-read that statement.
A curse is a solemn utterance intended to invoke a supernatural power to inflict harm or punishment on someone or something; a coarse or blasphemous word or phrase used to express anger or other strong emotion.
Put the word "generational" in front of it and that simple implies that it has been passed down from generation to generation.
Where in the world we came up with some of these sayings is beyond my understanding but we did. And we continue to hand them down to our children and their children.
I was feeling my absolute greatest the day that I was yelling this. And full of energy, I might add.
So no part of me was sick or tired.
However, I can promise one thing, if I continue to speak that out of my mouth sure enough both will come to pass.
When people around me say their head or stomach or knee pain etc is killing them, I cringe.
I once was that person. I said it all the time, countless times in a week. Until I understood this verse.
The power of life and death is in the tongue - Proverbs 18:21.
But we only like to pull this verse out in times of need. We don't realize this is a law of the universe that is applicable all day every day.
If you read my ebook "Do Words Teach?" then you can have a better understanding of how this law works.
Just like the law of gravity, it does not need your belief to work. It works irregardless of one's belief.
In case you are wondering, I do not exercise "gentle parenting techniques" when it comes to raising my children.
I am probably more on the further end of the spectrum which is more like "tyrant style" lol.
In this aspect, it is beneficial if I can rearrange my frustration with better wording when trying to get my children to understand that I've had enough of their behavior.
Then it will be like a double-edge sword. I'm actually creating with my words a more positive outcome and simultaneously gentle parenting.
Which in my opinion would result in fewer times of frustration for the both of us.
Will this same application have relevance when dealing with let's say a co-worker? Or a spouse?
I'm certain that the answer is yes. And as I'm writing this, I am reminding myself to move accordingly.
I truly believe that not one person wants to be sick or tired. Ever.
Vitality, energy, strength and serenity are part of our inheritance. We are designed to reign in life. That is our birthright from our Eternal Creator that made and fashioned us.
We need to continuously make adjustments to our lives so that we can walk in the fullness of it.
That includes discontinuing the use of erroneous phrases that we learned from our great great great great great grandparents.
