Recession is Imminent
Recession is Imminent

If you have read my blogs from the beginning, you will know that I stopped watching the news and stayed off of social media for years.

In case you are new to my blogs or you don't quite remember the reasons why I purposely did this, allow me to elaborate.

I think it's a fair assumption to say that most of us have pictorial minds. If I say a red apple, your mind will picture this is great detail.

Well, my mind takes it further. I start to imagine what the apple feels like, how heavy it is, and its texture. Then, I will imagine how juicy it would be if I bit into it. Further, I will wonder how it tastes with caramel and maybe some nuts.

But my mind doesn't stop there. It will then think, "oh my gosh what if there was a worm in the apple and I didn't know it and then I bit into the worm!"

I think you can tell where I'm going with this.

Social media and the news would haunt me at night. I would go to sleep thinking about the tragedies I read and even dreamed about them.

If it were something grave, it would affect my appetite. I would physically make myself sick worrying about situations that people face daily.

Of course the pandemic is what almost pushed me over the edge and I successfully made it through that only to face the election and major news stories during that timeframe.

Needless to say, had I not went on a full fast and protected my ears from engaging in certain conversations, I most likely would not be here today.

That's not say that something fatal would have happened, but I certainly would not have the mindset that I do now (which actually could have killed certain dreams and goals that I had.)

Now that I am more aware of my thoughts and I place emphatic importance on what I dwell on, I have been able to view news articles once again.

The entire world is aware of the major changes within the United States of America.

With eyes wide open and ears ready to listen, there is a lot being said with two varying opinions as to what is about to happen to our economy.

I can be on one article that with 100% certainty says the United States is heading into a major recession. I will move to the next article that says we have never been more successful as a nation ever and our economy will be at its pinnacle.

Another article will warn if we don't stock pile certain items now, we will no longer have access to them. We know this is to be true in certain instances from the toilet paper shortage we dealt with years ago.

The opposite side says this is fear tactics and they have evidence to substantiate it.

Who do we believe when half place blame and the other half takes credit?

Worry, fear, concern, doubt, stress and anger verses peace, tranquility, assurance, certainty, serenity and faith.

Herein lies the real battle.

This is not the right verses the left, red verses blue, republican verses democrat, USA verses China, or Trump verses Kamala.

We are God's highest form of creation. We have the ability to choose what we focus our thoughts on.

I've used this analogy many times before. You may not be able to stop a bird from landing on your head, but you can stop it from building a nest.

Worry, fear, concern, doubt, stress and anger are thoughts that land on all of our heads. If we let them stay, the nest will continue to get bigger and bigger. Eventually the bird will find a lit cigarette to bring to this massive nest and the results are catastrophic.

We certainly aren't supposed to live with our heads buried in the sand thinking that if we don't know what is going on around us, we won't be affected by it.

Nor are we supposed to stress ourselves into an early grave.

Matthew 6:34 is our daily reminder "so do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring worries of its own. Today's trouble is enough for today."

Which side are you on?

As for me and my house, we shall serve the Living God and He represents peace, tranquility, assurance, certainty, serenity and faith.
