PUSH ENERGY
Effort and Motivation

The biggest lie told is the one we keep telling ourselves.
Notice I didn't continue that statement with examples. The reason for that is because the examples are endless.
But to be fair, I will be vulnerable in this blog and tell you the lies I've not only told myself, but the lies that I believed.
And by the way, a belief is a thought that you continue to think.
The definition of belief from Oxford Languages is "an acceptance that a statement is true or that something exists."
So once I tell myself something enough times, I actually start to believe it and once I believe it, it is much more difficult to change my stance.
Furthermore, once a belief is hard-wired in our minds, we run on auto-pilot.
Think back to when you first learned to drive a car or ride a bike. At first, you were hyper focused on every move you made but after time, you became so relaxed that you can do multiple things simultaneously with very little focus on the bike or car.
This pattern holds true with your thoughts, thus becoming a paradigm.
In simple terms, a paradigm is a fundamental way of thinking or a framework of beliefs and assumptions that shapes how we understand and approach a subject or a problem.
A paradigm is a set of programs that has almost exclusive control over our habitual behavior.
Paradigms are built in our subconscious minds.
The part of our mind that knows things and the part of our mind that controls our behaviors are two different things.
A paradigm shift is imperative in order to change anything in our lives.
I believe one of the first steps for one to take in order to change these programs is to master self talk.
I realize that is easier said than done.
All of my life, from as early as I can remember, I have told myself that I'm not athletic.
I have legitimately believed this and so every time I have set out to do any physical activity, my mindset has been just that.
Although I have stayed active in the gym for many years, I have allowed my paradigm to influence the way that I have maneuvered.
I took a back seat and watched people do things that I only dreamed of doing.
That is until recently.
Someone showed me a quote that said "Day One or One Day."
I felt that to my core. I have always said to myself "maybe one day I will...."
The reason that I never said "this will be my day one" is because the push energy needed to get started is by far the most energy needed for the entire task.
I said what I said.
The hardest and most strength that is usually required is the push to get started. The push to even start mastering the self talk. The push to start the diet. The push to begin the exercise routine. The push to walk away from the toxic relationship. The push to wake up early. The push to stop smoking. The push to stop drinking. The push to start the task.
Once you exert the initial effort and motivation to start, guess what will happen?
Inertia.
And before you know it, you will successfully change a belief system that has been limiting you.
