INCORRECT VARIABLES
Stop Using the Wrong Formula

Repeat after me: "we listen, we don't judge lol."
I am having you do this exercise because I'm about to tell you some things.
I homeschool my kids ages 9 and 11. Up until now, I have felt qualified. That is until my son started math that far exceeded my intellect.
So these days I rely heavily on AI (Alex is his name) that breaks down equations for me to understand so that I can correctly guide my son.
Basically, I go to school before I teach school haha.
We recently started adding, subtracting, multiplying, dividing and reducing fractions. Each one varying in its own way of solving with the exception of adding and subtracting.
In order for my son to correctly solve each equation, he must first determine which formula is suitable.
If he tries to use the same formula to divide that he does for multiplying, the answer is wrong - every time. Even when his multiplication skills are accurate, because he chose the wrong formula to solve the problem, his answer will never be correct.
I'm sure by now you know where I'm going with this blog.
Somethings in life will never add up even when your math is mathing simply because you are using the wrong formula.
If you are paying close attention to your thoughts, careful of the conversations you are having, limiting your social media influence yet you are still finding yourself in the same situations you were in prior to making these changes, perhaps you are going about it the wrong way.
I spoke with a friend a couple of days ago that I haven't talked with in years. During the course of our conversation it became apparent to me that not much has changed with me at all.
When I say this, I am referring to external tangible variances only.
I was attempting to update her on changes in my life but I had little to offer. I'd be lying if I said that didn't upset me.
In fact, it bothered me a lot. So much so that I had to pause to reevaluate my life.
My numbers are adding up. I am intentional and somewhat strategic in my day to day life. So why are things not changing for me that I so desperately want different?
I am using the wrong formula.
I began placing attention and focus on the things that are not changing, the things that I dislike, the unanswered prayers and because of this I have kept myself from receiving them.
Whatever you give attention to the subconscious magnifies.
Which reminds me of a Scripture in the Song of Solomon "it's the little foxes that spoil the vine."
The 10%of my day that I spend noticing, focusing on, complaining about is only increasing the distance between me and the improvement.
I don't spend majority of my day "woe is me" but every day consistently I have allowed myself to give attention to the goals not attained.
I have been trying to divide fractions with the same method used for multiplying them and I keep coming up with the wrong answers.
The blueprint is simple.
The technique is straightforward.
The method is lucid.
Whatsoever things are true, honest, just, pure, lovely and of a good report - think on these things.
When we focus on and give our undivided attention to all the things that are going right, all of the things that are working, all of the things that are on the horizon it is guaranteed that we will be in closer proximity to that which is absent.
Furthermore, I can promise you once you start purposely doing this, the things that you are lacking will be of little importance.
