HOW TO RESIST STRUGGLE AND STRAIN
Relaxation Is Not Passivity

Everything we have been taught is a lie!!!!!
Ok, maybe that is an exaggerated statement and most likely closer to a lie than the truth but indulge me for a couple of minutes.
I've spent a significant amount of time researching the difference between the successful and the not so much...
Most of us, especially if you are a US citizen, have little understanding of the struggles that third world countries face.
We may be privy to their plight through news media or some other second hand accounts. It's only when you have visited and seen in person that you will fully be aware of the severity.
If you get the privilege to do so, you will be forever changed.
I bring this point up to say this - if you think that hard work alone will guarantee success, you haven't ever witnessed a man handicapped in his body, using little to no equipment, in 106 degrees weather, digging up pavement for what we consider chump change.
That is the epitome of "hard work."
To further complicate my theory, desire alone does not guarantee success.
Having several in depth conversations with beggars and vagabonds, one thing that is a common thread amongst them is their desire for a better life.
Sadly, I have witnessed grown men crying on their knees speaking of the desire to alter their current reality, only to walk away and continue to beg.
However, without hard work and without desire, one cannot achieve a certain level of success.
So wherein lies the answer??
It is in my strong belief that I may have found the answer.
Reading my previous blogs you will see that I often use gardening as examples to aid in our lives so today's blog goes with no exception.
How foolish of us would it be to plant a seed and dig it up every other day to be sure it was starting to germinate?!
When a farmer or a horticulturalist sews seed, he understands his role in achieving a harvest. He also understands the seed's responsibilities.
Can you add power to the seed? No you can't.
Therefore, at some point you have to relinquish your control. You have to relax.
Relaxation is not passivity it actually is power.
Relaxation in part is faith.
Relaxation is trust.
Relaxation represents ease.
Relaxation breeds success.
In prayer, in your inner conversations, in your internal monologue, avoid struggle and strain. Confidence and relaxation will be your strength.
Can you add power to The Omniscient? No you cannot.
Is it your responsibility to ensure the rising of the sun each day? Of course not.
As with the seed, we need to recognize the difference between our duties and His.
We have been taught since childhood that is solely our effort, hard work, diligence, dedication, and tenacity that awards our success and being relaxed is lazy.
We believe that if we don't worry, stress, try and figure out solutions to our problems that we are being lethargic, apathetic, and nonchalant.
We have been programmed to think that we are in control of the seed that is planted and somehow we have to do everything possible including lying on the ground begging, pleading and commanding the seed to harvest.
The reality is, we are only commanded ONE time in scripture to labor and that is to labor to enter into His rest...
Therein you will find relaxation, peace, serenity, joy, assurance, certainty, confidence, and success.
